Been a while since the last post, blah blah whatever.  CNN has a story today about CERN’s new Large Hadron Collider — the one that’s supposed to ice-nine the planet or get us sucked into a subatomic-sized black hole. The title looks like fear-mongering but they actually do a decent bit of alleviating concern that we’re all going to be turned into a giant ball of strange matter. So, to counteract that, here’s the countdown to the end of the world: As I write this it’s at 7 days, 10 hours, not too long after X-day 11. I figure we have about the same chances of being whisked off by the saucers this year as the LHC has of destroying the entire planet.

It just doesn’t have the same ring to it.
